Great session about live-demo of industrial use-cases on Ansible!!

Being under the RH294 — Automation Using Ansible training from RedHat by LinuxWorld Informatics Pvt. Ltd., guided by the World Record Holder, on and only Mr. Vimal Daga Sir, and coordinated by Mrs. Preeti Chandak Daga Ma’am, I was one of those few students who got an opportunity to be a learner of the most exciting 2.5 hours of live practical demo on Ansible on 28th of December, 2020.
After being a successful spectator of the Session, I feel blessed to be able to hear and learn directly from two great technical people from RedHat — Mr. Arun Eapen (Director, APAC Service Delivery, GLS RedHat Asia Pacific) and Mr. Sreejith Anujan (The Principal Instructor at Red Hat).
The session was purely technology and automation based.
We were privileged to hear a few encouraging and motivating words by Mr. Ramesh Padmanabhan (Director — Training and Certification, RedHat).
He was followed by Mr. Arun Eapen who, with the aid of a presentation, threw lights on how and why automation is achieving so much heights in the field of industrial technology. He also focused on how we, the learners, can start our journey with automation step-by-step and gather a full expertise on it.
The stage of Mr. Eapen was eventually taken over by Mr. Sreejith Anujan. He covered the actual heart of the session — from very zero to real advances. Some major points covered by Mr. Anujan were:-
- AUTOMATION — Automation is the creation and application of technologies to produce and deliver goods and services with minimal human intervention. The implementation of automation technologies, techniques and processes improve the efficiency, reliability, and/or speed of many tasks that were previously performed by humans.
- ANSIBLE — Ansible is an open-source software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code. It runs on many Unix-like systems, and can configure both Unix-like systems as well as Microsoft Windows.
- ANSIBLE TOWER — Ansible Tower (formerly ‘AWX’) is a web-based solution that makes Ansible even more easy to use for IT teams of all kinds. It’s designed to be the hub for all of your automation tasks.
Use-Cases that were practically shown as demo:-
- First Use Case
Mr. Anujan had scripted an ansible playbook that connected with AWS cloud, created a new VPC, a subnet inside the VPC, an internet gateway and a security group. The playbook then launched a cloud instance pre-configured as a webserver inside the subnet using the security group, so that the webpage configured could be viewed using the instance public IP. The playbook was run using Ansible playbook.
Later in the practical, he also showed how to integrate Oracle cloud using ansible.
- Second Use-Case
Implementing a CI/CD ChatOps workflow using Ansible Tower and VMware. Here, a complete CI/CD pipeline with production and testing environments were constructed with proper approval system from Slack — a professional chat workspace.
